Every child deserves a bright future, and those fortunate enough to have received extra help from a college advisor know what a critical difference it can make. Rivertowns College Counseling has one very specific purpose: to help your child succeed. Preparing for college is an increasingly difficult and demanding process, and we can help. We guide each student through every step of the college planning and application process smoothly, simply, and efficiently.

Recognizing that each child is unique, we take the time needed to work with each student in order to best showcase individual strengths through essays, applications and interviews. Mindful of the busy schedules of both parent and student, we break the application process down into one cohesive timeline consisting of manageable, comprehensive, and realistic steps. We work together with your child and you to ensure that the end result is the beginning of a happy and fulfilling education, and one with a solid foundation leading to graduation and a successful career.

It’s never too early (or too late) to start preparing for college. Each student has differing needs. You may consider one or more of the following in order to choose your most optimal path:

RCC offers several comprehensive packages, as well as an option for hourly assistance.

Junior/Senior Package( Our Most Popular )

We work with you to create a detailed, college application plan with a personalized timeline. Broken down, the timeline will include everything needed in order to get the desired results: which standardized test(s) to take, when and how to prepare; research into and compilation of targeted college lists (including “reaches”, “targets”, and “likelys”); interview and college visit preparation; recommendations (whom to ask, and how to manage); everything you need to know to craft unique and successful essays; the pivotal role of extracurricular activities; and lastly, the final college decision-making process.

Freshman/HS package

Beginning early freshman year, we focus first on the best course and extracurricular choices to make in order to meet, and ideally exceed, agreed upon goals. Continuing through the rest of freshman, sophomore and junior years, RCC will monitor and assess all chosen classes, activities, and transcripts, as well as explore all relevant interests, strengths, and corresponding needs. We ensure that the best summer opportunities – academic, extracurricular, and community service-based – are all considered. We work together with you to implement the ideal standardized testing overview – with a full tutor referral list, plan, and timeline.

Senior year

We help refine your college choice list, brainstorm and maximize the quality of application essays, guide you throughout completion of your application, and help make the crucial, final decisions about where to attend.
