Allyson Felix

Allyson Felix founded Rivertowns College Counseling (RCC) with one mission in mind: to help each child succeed and thrive in a best-fit college. Dedicated and driven, Allyson’s own professional history – as both Independent Educational Consultant and Marketing Executive – makes her uniquely qualified to work with students of varying backgrounds and needs. A dependable and consummate professional, counselor, mentor, and parent, Allyson understands the inherent challenges of the college application process for both students and parents alike, and brings a patient, thoughtful, and empathetic approach to an otherwise stressful and hectic time.

Professionally, Allyson brings a formidable and diverse background to RCC. Before becoming a certified college counselor, Allyson held a number of high-level positions in the Marketing world, including senior executive positions with Tri-Star Pictures, Children’s Television Workshop, King World, and Dan Klores Communications. Allyson has served as Campaign Consultant to several New York state politicians, and has volunteered on numerous community committees in both New York and Massachusetts.

A graduate of Pace University, Allyson went on to graduate with distinction from UCLA’s College Counseling program, the nation’s most highly regarded college counseling program. She is a member in good standing of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC),  and New York State Association for College Admission Counseling (NYSACAC). She served on the executive board of her children’s PTSA, and as Trustee of its Education Foundation. She is a former longtime co-chair of a local Community Advisory Board, where she focused on the development of activities and resources to help young people become responsible, healthy and happy adults. Happily married with three young adult children – five, if she’s counting her labrador and golden retrievers – Allyson is herself a veteran of the college process three times over.  Like most working women, she cherishes the little free time she has, and loves to spend it gardening, playing tennis and boating when she can; she is a USCG Captain: Master 50grt.
